Forty Scholarship recipients will be chosen by AbbVie to receive the $2,500 CF CareForward Scholarship. Submission guidelines and eligibility requirements are included in the application.

Boomer Esiason Foundation Scholarships (BEF)

Scholarships will be awarded on the basis of demonstrated need and academic accomplishment. BEF’s target is to grant 10 to 15 scholarships each year to CF patients with academic goals. Grants will be made directly to the academic institution to assist in covering the cost of tuition and fees. They offer grants ranging from $500 to $2,500. (Please Note: Scholarships are for one year only)

Bonnie Strangio Education Scholarship

The Scholarship will be awarded to a person living with cystic fibrosis who, like Bonnie, has an upbeat personality and “can-do” attitude and shows a tremendous passion for life in achieving their goals despite battling CF. This must be an Undergraduate or Graduate student who has cystic fibrosis and whose service and commitment to the prevention and cure of cystic fibrosis is exemplary.

Cystic Fibrosis Scholarship Foundation (CFSF)

Eligible Applicants: Has CF and will be enrolled in an undergraduate program or vocational school.

Award: Both single year and multi-year awards are made, generally for $1,000 per year. Students may reapply the following year for an additional award, but are not guaranteed future awards.

Exercise for Life Athletic Scholarship Program

The Boomer Esiason Foundation has created a scholar-athlete award to assist cystic fibrosis high school senior athletes pursuing un­dergraduate degrees. Scholarships will be awarded annually on the basis of demonstrated financial need, academic accomplishment and athletic ability in the area of running. BEF will grant one female and one male with a $10,000 grant. Grants are made directly to the academic institution to assist in covering the costs of tuition and fees.

Gunnar Esiason Scholarship at Boston College

To be eligible, a student must have cystic fibrosis or have an immediate family member with CF. He or she also must already be admitted or enrolled at Boston College and qualify for financial aid by demonstrating financial need, as determined by the University’s Office of Financial Aid.

The Boomer Esiason Foundation “Jerry Cahill You Cannot Fail” Scholarship

Eligible Applicants: Applicants must have CF and must already have completed at least one semester of undergraduate coursework. Applicants must demonstrate that they go “above and beyond” in everything they do, displaying outstanding character, leadership and service to the community. They also must be compliant to their CF therapies and engage in regular exercise as part of their effort to stay healthy. Finally, applicants must demonstrate a need for financial assistance.

Award: This $5,000 scholarship will be awarded annually to one male and one female student. Grants are made directly to an academic institution to assist in covering the cost of tuition and fees.

The Boomer Esiason Foundation Rimington Trophy Scholarship

The Boomer Esiason Foundation established the Rimington Trophy Scholarship in 2012 to recognize individuals who are living, breathing and succeeding with cystic fibrosis.

Eligible Applicants: Applicants must have cystic fibrosis and demonstrate scholastic ability, character, leadership, service to the community, need for financial assistance and daily compliance to CF therapy.

Award: $1,000 to $2,000

The Boomer Esiason Foundation Rosemary Quigley Memorial Scholarship

The Rosemary Quigley Memorial Scholarship honors a remarkable woman who achieved her personal, educational and professional ambitions in spite of the constant presence of cystic fibrosis in her life.

Eligible Applicants: Students with CF who are pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees with a clear sense of life goals, and whose commitment to living life to the fullest – despite having CF – is exemplary.

Award: $500 to $2,000

United States Adult Cystic Fibrosis Association’s (USACFA) Lauren Melissa Kelly Scholarship

Eligible Applicants: USACFA is excited to offer the Lauren Melissa Kelly Scholarship award for the Fall semester 2017 to adults with cystic fibrosis who are pursuing career certifications, associates, and bachelor’s degrees.

Award: From $1500 to $2500

Eligible Applicants: The Elizabeth Nash Foundation awards scholarships to assist persons with CF to pursue undergraduate and graduate degrees. In selecting applicants, the Scholarship Committee takes into consideration each applicant's scholastic record, character, demonstrated leadership, service to CF-related causes and the broader community, and need for financial assistance.

Vertex Pharmaceutical’s All in For CF Scholarship program

Eligible Applicants: Vertex's All in for CF Scholarship Program helps people with CF, and their families (siblings, caregivers, and children) in pursuing two-year, four-year or graduate degrees to offset the costs of attending college or graduate school.

Award: Vertex will award 40 scholarships of $5,000 each to members of the CF community for the 2017-2018 school year.

Deadline: Scholarship applications are being accepted through March 7, 2017 at 11:59 PM PST, and recipients will be notified in May 2017.
